Thalia's father died when she was five years old. But he was granted by God the chance to see his youngest daughter embark on what would become her full time career. 

At the age of 3 Thalia first appeared on the television program "Estudiantinas Estudian " where  she displayed early on her singing prowess. Yes, even at such a young age,
real talent will shine.

Her supportive parents enrolled her in the ballet school Academia de Nellie Happee
at the age of 6 when she entertained dreams of becoming  a gymnast. Now we
know where she gets all her fluid dance movements.

Of course , a proper young lady's cultural education will not be complete if she did
not play at least one  musical instrument. At the age of 8 she enrolled in Piano
lessons at Instituto Mexicano de Musica.

The rest of her artistic training was completed at the School of Tarra Parra by the time she was
13 years old.

At the age of 10, she was discovered by Paco Ayala and asked to sing with the children's singing
group Din Din. She released 4 albums with them. A stage stint in the musical "Vaselina" opened
the doors for her to replace Sasha in 1986 when the former left Timbiriche. It was one of the best
decisions the groups manager ever made. Thalia's addition to Timbiriche made the groups
popularity soar to even greater heights.

Rifts within Timbiriche eventually drove the group to disband. By 1990,
Thalia had gone on to become a solo performer with the release of her
first solo album"Thalia".

Her acting career started in 1983. She debuted in the tv Christmas
special "Chiquilladas".





    Her first ever acting job in a telenovela was in 1987,
    "Pobre Seniorita Limantour" marked her debut as a tv
    actress. It was also during this year that she made
    "Quincenerea", her first ever leading role. This was then
    followed by "Luz y Sombra", one of her telenovela
    projects that she is not too proud of as this telenovela
    entailed a lot of personal conflict among the cast.
 

    From 1992 to 1995, she concentrated her work on the so called "Tres Marias."
    "Maria Mercedes , Mari Mar, and Maria La Del Barrio", established her image
    as the "Queen of Latin Telenovelas".  Along with this, her resounding success
    as a solo performer has recently established her as the "Queen of Latin Pop
    Music".

    Thalia's achievements past and present, all contributed to the Star that she has
    become.
