Fernando Carrillo

Fernando Carrillo. Fernando is from Venezuela, where he
has been a playing lead roles for many years. There was a
slight controversy that Televisa chose him to star in
"Rosalinda" instead of a Mexican actor, but after the
extremely successful "María Isabel" there was no doubt of
his appeal to women. To prepare for filming Rosalinda, he
worked on his tan and exercised a lot. At first he said there
would not be a romance with Thalía, although there was
chemistry between them, and this was supposedly an
agreement they worked out before hand. Everything was
supposed to be professional between them, even the kisses,
he said. Now, however, Fernando is being quoted as saying
"If it happens, it happens." He has clashed with the studio
management over who would sing the novela's theme song
(he lost,Thalía will sing it). Being a musician himself (he
writes songs and performs with his brothers in a group
called 911D) he feels the part of the piano-playing Román
is perfect for him, and he hopes this role will set a new
standard for the television galán of the future.

On Fernando Jose:

In his second telenovela in Mexico, Fernando is a young, wealthy, attractive, elegant, yet simple bachelor. He studied Law, as an obligation to his mother, but in reality he is passionate about music and practiced it every time he had an opportunity. He was profoundly enamored by Rosalinda, but his family's want prevailed upon him.
