Angelica Maria

It took two tries for the producers of "Rosalinda" to catch the star
they had always wanted to play the important part of Thalía's
mother. Angélica María had firmly refused, and it was well known
about her that she would only take starring parts. Most recently she
had great successas the lead in "Bendita Mentira" and she was
holding out for the top part in "Cuidado con el ángel." But this other
role did not come available, and Salvador Mejía went after her again
when negotiations with Lupita Ferrer were not going well. This time
she agreed. Angélica María is an actress who can wring the greatest
emotion possible from her roles, and the word is already coming back
that she has created another intensely sympathetic character which
will long be remembered.

After Bendita Mentira, Angelica Maria intereprets a woman who supposedly assassinates the father of Fernando Jose, for whom she was a secretary. She was secretly wed to Alfredo. As the woman caught in the middle, she martyred herself and became bitter. Her sister Dolores was the adopted mother of Rosalinda.
